The church of the congregation is located in the center of the village of Sultana, about 200 m from Lake Mostiştea. The existence of the church in the village of Odaia Vlădichii, which today belongs to the village of Sultana, is mentioned in the 18th century, being located near the aristocratic house. In 1810, Odaia Vlădichii village had 25 households and 135 inhabitants. The old wooden church, dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, was built by villagers on the property of the Cotroceni church. A priest and a cantor served at the church.

The church was rebuilt from the walls between 1834 and 1835. Because of the fact that the place of worship was destroyed, between 1931 and 1938 it was reconstructed and the paintings rebuilt.

The Holy Place of Worship is built in the shape of a cross with a length of 21 m, the width beside the apses is 11 m and the height is 18 m. The church is made of bricks and covered with zinc plaques.

The church has three octagonal domes, two on the narthex and one on the nave on which three steel crosses are assembled. On both sides of the pronaos there are semicircular apses on the inside and semi-octagonal on the outside, covered by two spherical semi-caps, having the same shape as the altar. The narthex has a rectangular shape, being covered by a semi-cylindrical cap.

The painting of the church was executed in 1937 by the painter Mihail Mitescu. The altar screen is carved in oak wood and adorned with icons painted by the same author mentioned above.

The Church of St. Dumitru is a voivodal construction built in the time and command of voivode Matei Basarab and his wife, Elina, in 1648. This fact appears in the stone carved inscription, written in relief letters, which is located above the door entry into the narthex.

In 1900, the church was rebuilt again inside and out, covered with tiles, equipped with new windows and doors, at the expense of the administration of the royal property of the locality. In 1937 it was covered with new tiles, the mosaic floor was laid and it was built with concrete walls and forged iron, also at the expense of the royal property. In 1970, consolidation works were carried out at the tower and portal and it is painted in Byzantine style.

The inscription written in 1900 is located above the church entrance door and is written in capital letters incised on the white marble plate: „This holy church of Matei Basarab was rebuilt by His Majesty King Carol I in the year MCM and XXXIV the first of his reign. „

The inscription in 1937 is located above the church entrance door under the inscription above and is written in capital letters incised on the white marble plate: „In 1937 this holy church was repaired entirely by His Majesty King Carol of II. „

The church has a plan in the form of a 26.7 m long ship, 9.3 m wide and 25 m high, and is made of thin bricks with a hydraulic chalk wall with a width of 1.45 m. It has a single tower massively located over the nartex, which also has the role of bell tower. The total built area is 230 square meters.

In 1828, Greek merchant Hristofor Guva, builds the foundation of the Tăriceani Monastery, rebuilt several times, as it is mentioned in the church inscription.

The place of worship was transformed over time into a monastery for the Greek and Romanian superiors belonging to the Congregation Odaia Vlădichii (today Sultana). Upon completion, the church was dedicated to the Holy Mountain. The monastery was then dissolved with the secularization of A. I. Cuza, and the church remained in use for the villagers until 1970 – 1971, when they were deployed by the Communist regime.

The Tăriceni Church is built of bricks with straw and clay, a characteristic of all the churches in Bărăgan, where the river is missing. The construction material and technique shows that the monastic building was built from a spiritual necessity of the inhabitants and did not have a defense role. It was built on a hill with a rectangular shape without a surrounding wall, and to the north and west were the houses of the superiors.

Inside there are also valuable paintings brought from Mount Athos, the proof being the Greek lettering on the paintings. Also, the interior has a luminous chroma, using mainly red, green, white and golden yellow, which gives a great light. The faces of the saints are bright, optimistic, almost in harmony with the spirit of the inhabitants of Tăriceni village, who have been confronted with the events of time.
